GOALS OF THE WEBSITE RE-ORGANIZATION
First and foremost, we wanted to deliver a more intuitive organization of the MEMBERS section, with new features designed to help you find documents and website links more efficiently, thereby realizing the value of all the resources our club has to offer.
HOW TO FIND DOCUMENTS IN THE NEW STRUCTURE
- All DOWNLOADABLE DOCUMENTS & LINKS are now organized together, by topic rather than format; these materials are a key benefit of club membership and are accessible to members only
- All documents and internet resources are contained in one spreadsheet which enables searching and sorting by category, title, author and date, and which include links for ease of locating your desired document or website (see the SEARCHABLE DATABASE page)
- Many document titles have been re-named to be more descriptive and consistent
OTHER NEW FEATURES
- Online payments via Zelle for membership dues (new and renewals) as well as for tickets to our annual Family History Conference are now an option for your convenience (see JOIN/RENEW)
- Formatting has been simplified for links and downloads throughout the site, so that you simply click on the underlined blue title of your desired document or link to open and/or download it
- A new ADMINISTRATION section has been created that serves as a repository for board and committee members to keep club processes running smoothly
- More information about all our club has to offer is now contained in the public ABOUT section, with the goal of whetting potential members' appetites and encouraging them to join
WHAT ELSE IS IN THE WORKS
- We are exploring a new resource, a database of surnames being researched by members, to help you connect with fellow members who may be on a common quest
- A credit card payment option for membership dues and Family History Conference tickets is anticipated by or near year-end
We hope these modifications enhance your website experience. As always, we welcome your feedback!

Error Proofing Your Tree Using Family Tree Analyzer Workshop -- Vicki Reisenfeld
Family Tree Analyzer is a free program that analyzes a GEDCOM file and “suggests” specific records that may be errors (i.e., potential duplicate ancestors, marriages at a very young age, children born after mother's death, etc.). The software also suggests missing records from outside genealogy databases. The information can be exported into a spreadsheet for easy review and filtering of like errors. This will include a real-time workshop, so members will be asked to bring their laptops and a GEDCOM copy of their tree. We will walk you through how to export a GEDCOM file during the meeting. Vicki, our presenter, is club president and an experienced genealogist who's had success using this program to discover errors in her tree.
